Forget Me Not Competition

Our first ever competition was heaps of fun and joy whilst raising over £50 for charity!

For the club's first year, it was decided that an annual charity competition tradition would be created in order to raise money and add a bit of spice to the club's training. However, this was very different to your standard sports competition as ran just like a normal training session but with a competitive twist.

At the start of the session, members were made aware of the 11 different awards up for grabs which each consisted of a Winner and Runner-Up that would be chosen from the training session's events. Coaches Bethan and Luke kept their eye out for star gymnasts as the session

To continue the celebration, a small awards ceremony took place this Thursday in Revolution where medals and trophies were presented to the participants in recognition of the dedication and enthusiasm, displayed at the competition.

Overall, over £50 raised for charity, our first tradition created, a happy bunch of gymnasts and some very proud coaches!

Some gymnasts had choreographed routines specifically for the day which demonstrated a variety of skills and dance, as in traditional gymnastics, however there was also a strong presence of freestyle where some of the guys had a go at learning some tricking with Luke.

After some tough deliberation, each of the 22 certificates were allocated and presented to the

members at the end of the session (results listed below), leading to an all-round winner and runner-up. Two particular members had presented a mix of team work, enthusiasm, skills and dance throughout the session which contributed to the award, so a huge congratulations to Runner-Up Rachel Coombes and Winner Lily Mayor!
